Arsenal flop Willian says he was “unhappy” at the Emirates and opens up on disaster move

rsenal flop Willian has opened up on his failed move to north London and says he was not happy at the Emirates.

After a stellar career at Chelsea, Willian moved north of the river after the Blues refused to match the offer of a three-year deal from Arsenal.

However, the move didn’t work out for either party after just one goal in 37 appearances for the 33-year-old, who now says he was unhappy being part of Mikel Arteta’s squad.

“I really thought a lot, together with my family and close people. Unfortunately, my time at Arsenal was not good, I wasn’t happy at the club,” Willian told TV Corinthians.

“I don’t need to go into details, but I wasn’t happy and I thought that returning to Brazil was the best option.

“I studied some other opportunities, but I wanted to return to Corinthians, to my home, to be close to my family. It’s the club that projected me to the world, revealed me. The right time to come back was this.”
