A BJP MP has written to Delhi Lieutenant-Governor Anil Baijal alleging that civic bodies including party ruled-municipal corporations were not functioning properly.
North West Delhi MP Hans Raj Hans, in his letter to Delhi LG Anil Baijal, said that his constituency has been facing issues of water logging due to heavy rainfall. He said three people died and multiple properties were damaged in the area due to the heavy downpour in the city.
MP Hans Raj Hans said he had conveyed about the problems his constituency had faced to the Delhi Irrigation and Flood Control of Delhi, Delhi Jal Board, Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB), Delhi Development Authority (DDA) and Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). However, despite repeated commmunications, “no satisfactory action” was taken by them.
In his letter, MP Hans Raj Hans requested the Delhi LG to call for a meeting regarding the same.
The first three departments mentioned in the letter fall under the purview of Arvind Kejriwal-led government in Delhi while DDA comes under Centre’s jurisdiction and the BJP has been power in all three municipal corporations for the past 14 years.
