Huskies Crack USTFCCCA Preseason Polls

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn women’s cross country team is ready to open the 2021 season and the Huskies find themselves ranked in both the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches’ Association national and regional preseason polls.

The Huskies enter the season sitting at the top of the USTFCCCA  Northeast Regional Poll and come in at No. 23 in the national preseason top-30 poll.

UConn is coming off a second-place finish at last season’s BIG EAST Championship in their return to the conference.  The Huskies had four runners finish in the top-10 and were just edged out by Georgetown by two points for the top-spot.

The Huskies will be led by the return of All-BIG EAST runners, seniors Mia Nahom (New Milford, Conn.), a 2019 NCAA Championship qualifier, and Randi Burr (Westerly, R.I.) and sophomore Jenna Zydanowicz (West Hartford, Conn.).

UConn will open up the 2021 season this Saturday running in the Marist Invitational.
