Kyle Palmieri is staying put on Long Island.

The New York Islanders announced Wednesday that they’ve signed the veteran forward to a multi-year contract.

Per Sportsnet‘s Elliotte Friedman, the deal is worth $20 over four years with an annual average value of $5 million.

Palmieri, an unrestricted free agent, was the Islanders’ big splash at last season’s trade deadline. The 30-year-old winger struggled down the stretch in New York, putting up just four points in 17 games, before heating up in the post-season when he notched nine points in 19 games as the Islanders made a run to the third round where they were ousted by the eventual Stanley Cup winner — the Tampa Bay Lightning.

The 11-year pro finished the season with a disappointing 21 points in 51 games, marking his first campaign 2014-15 when he didn’t put up at least 20 goals or 40 points.
