Serie A side Juventus have said they have no plans to re-sign Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba as they are tracking “another type of player”.

The Italian giants signed the Frenchman on a free transfer, while he was a young prodigy within the Red Devils in 2012.

However, they have distanced themselves from any possible reunion with the 28-year-old whose contract with United expires next summer.

Despite the World Cup winner potentially being available for a free transfer next season, Juventus sporting director Federico Cherubini has said the club will instead be looking for younger, upcoming talents to bolster the side.

“On the market we will look for players like Haaland before the final maturity,” said Cherubini.

“Any investment will go in the direction of a young profile. I plan to bet on another type of player.”

This is further supported by reports from TuttoMercatoWeb.com who have said Juventus “have other ideas” for the next couple of transfer windows.

It is a direct contradiction of Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola, who said the World Cup winner still thinks about the Italian giants.

Raiola told Corriere Dello Sport : “Pogba’s contract expires next year. We’ll talk with Manchester United and we’ll see.

“Of course, Turin stayed in his heart and he cares a lot about these things.

“The possibility of him coming back is there, but it also depends on Juve.”

Pogba won four Serie A titles with the Bianconeri, as well as two Italian Cups and Super Cups, during his four year stay with the club.

His devastating performances for the 36-time Italian champions prompted United to bring the Frenchman back to Old Trafford for a world record fee of £89m.

While he has enjoyed some periods of brilliance with the Red Devils, his spell with the Reds could best be described as mix.

However, he has started the season in absolutely amazing fashion.

He has already registered seven Premier League assists in just five appearances, even recording four assists in United’s opening day 5-1 demolition of fierce rivals Leeds United.

He was also involved in United’s dramatic 2-1 away victory to West Ham United; playing on the left-hand side of a front four.

As well as his mercurial form, the midfielder looks like he is enjoying his football at United.

Whether it is at the heart of the midfield, or as a wide midfielder, the swagger, passing range, and brilliance he demonstrated with Juventus and France looks to be back, but in United red this time.

However, he is “yet to decide” where he will be come this time next season, as was highlighted by bis brother Mathias Pogba.

“Paul has yet to decide whether he intends to stay at Manchester United or leave next summer,” said Mathias Pogba.

“The decision is up to him.

“Right now, he feels very good at Manchester United, especially this season.

“We will see when it is time to make a decision.”

Pogba has been heavily linked with moves to Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Paris Saint-Germain this summer.
