No. 20 FH Closes Regular Season This Weekend

STORRS, Conn. – The No. 20 UConn field hockey team (9-9, 5-1 BIG EAST) closes the regular season this weekend with a road contest at Temple on Friday, October 29 at 12 p.m. and then a home matchup against No. 21 Delaware on Sunday, October 31 at 12 p.m. Both matches will be streamed on FloSports.

The Huskies have clinched a spot in the four-team BIG EAST Championship that will hosted in Storrs on November 5-7 with an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament on the line. UConn will be either the No. 2 or No. 3 seed in that tournament depending on results on Friday.

UConn enters Friday’s matchup with the Owls, winners of 14 in a row against Temple. Overall, the Huskies are 15-2-1 all-time against Temple.

The Huskies are 2-0 all-time against the Blue Hens with the last meeting coming in 2019 in Storrs. Claire Jandewerth and Kourtney Kennedy each had a goal in the victory.

Sophia Ugo leads the Huskies with eight goals and 18 points while Morgan Kaufmann and Jessica Dembrowski lead the squad with six assists a piece.
