The top middleweight match-up is joined on the historic Irish card by a cracking fight between former featherweight title contenders Pedro Carvalho and Daniel Weichel
Top Bellator middleweights Charlie Ward and Norbert Novenyi Jr will square off at Dublin’s 3Arena on November 5, Mirror Fighting can reveal.
The pair are the latest to be added to the stacked Bellator 270 event, which already features two No.1 contender bouts involving Irish fighters.
Both Novenyi and Ward train with the cream of the crop in their respective home countries, with the Irishman working alongside Conor McGregor at SBG Ireland, and Novenyi a training partner of Michael ‘Venom’ Page at London Shootfighters.
Youngster Novenyi is just 21 years of age, but has earned himself a top 10 ranking in one of MMA’s top promotions with five wins in his opening five professional bouts.
Arguably the most notable came over top Irish prospect Will Fleury in his home country back in 2019, where Novenyi dominated the much bigger Irishman in front of a raucous home crowd.

Ward, on the other hand, is a seasoned veteran of the fight game, with almost three times as many fights as his opponent, including two UFC outings.
The Irishman was unable to get a win in the UFC, struggling to get down to welterweight on the both occasions, but has looked a new fighter since moving up a division and signing with Bellator.
Between 2017 and 2019, he stormed to a four-fight win streak before slightly stuttering against Pietro Penini.
But he immediately came back with two wins in 2020 to consolidate himself as the number six middleweight in Bellator MMA, and will return home for his first fight in Ireland since before the coronavirus pandemic.
Ward and Novenyi will be joined on the Dublin card by another top ten match-up between former world title contenders Pedro Carvalho and Daniel Weichel.
Carvalho and Weichel both took on former featherweight champion Patricio ‘Pitbull’ Freire within the last few years, and were also competitors in Bellator’s Grand Prix over the last few years.
Since being eliminated, Weichel has gone on to return to winning ways against the unbeaten Keoni Diggs, while Carvalho dropped a tough loss to Jay-Jay Wilson at Bellator 257.
Both fights join a card headlined by Irish fan favourites James Gallagher and Peter Queally, who face off against Patrick ‘Patchy’ Mix and Patrick ‘Pitbull’ Freire in bouts that are essentially title eliminators.
Queally and Pitbull fought earlier this year after their initially planned October 2020 bout was scrapped due to coronavirus restrictions, with Queally earning a doctor’s stoppage victory over the Brazilian veteran.
Meanwhile, Gallagher and former world title contender Mix will both be looking to earn their way to a fight with the newly-crowned Sergio Pettis early next year in front of what will be a raucous crowd in Dublin.
The Republic of Ireland hasn’t hosted an MMA event with fans since Feburary 2020 due to ongoing coronavirus restrictions.
But a recent government roadmap for the easing of restrictions indicates that the event will be able to take place at full capacity on November 5 as planned, with a full reopening planned by October 22, two weeks before the fight night.
Tickets for Bellator 270: Gallagher vs Mix are on sale now and can be purchased online from Ticketmaster.ie and Bellator.com.
The event will be broadcast live on BBC iPlayer for fans in the UK.
