CPL 2021: TKR vs SLK: Despite Andre Fletcher’s fighting 81, Trinbago Knight Riders secured a facile 27-run victory in the CPL 2021 at the Warner Park, in St Kitts & Nevis on Tuesday. Skipper Kieron Pollard and Tim Seifert helped set 159-target after put into bat. But disciplined bowling from TKR bowlers helped them take the win.

Earlier, St Lucia Kings captain Faf Du Plessis won teh toss and opted to bowl first. While Kings bowlers did well in teh powerplay, keeping things tidy, Kieron Pollard and Tim Seifert accelarated in teh death overs to take the score to 158/7 in 20 overs. Pollard smashed a 29-ball 41 while Tim Seifert managed 25-ball 37.

CPL 2021: TKR vs SLK: Kesrick Williams was the most successful bowlers for St Lucia Kings with 4 wickets in his four overs in exchange for just 24 runs as he made Sunil Narine and the top-order struggle.

While St Lucia Kings were in control early on it was in the death overs where they fluandered. A 10-ball over from Wahab Riaz saw Pollard and Seifert score 21 runs. In the last four overs, TKR scored 56 runs and that took the game away.

CPL 2021: TKR vs SLK: However, St Lucia Kings didn’t have an ideal start either. They lost Rahkeem Cornwall early. While Faf du Plessis and Andre Fletcher shouldered on with a 40-run stand, TKR fought back. Faf du Plessis continued his disappointing run, scoring only 15 off 24 while Roston Chase too deaprted soon.

With Andre Fletcher still on crease, they had little hopes but St Lucia Kings continued to lose wickets from the other end. Apart from Mark Deyal, none could reach double-digits after Faf du Plessis as Kings suffered a 27-run defeat.

CPL 2021: TKR vs SLK: With the win, Trinbago Knight Riders moved to the 2nd spot on the table with two wins from four matches and a net-run-rate of 0.493. But the loss meant, St Lucia Kings slumped to teh bottom of the table with just a win in three games and a net-run-rate of -2.367.
