IND vs ENG LIVE- Ravi Shastri Out of 5th Test:The absence of head coach Ravi Shastri, bowling coach Bharat Arun and fielding coach R Sridhar will be a big blow for Team India. Their experience and feedback for the bowlers will be missed as they are currently isolating in hotel rooms after Ravi Shastri tested positive for COVID-19.

“Of course, we are missing them massively. They have been an extremely important part of the setup and have done extremely well in the last five-six years in the team doing well,” said Vikram Rathour, India’s batting coach in Press Conference on Sunday.

The absence of Bharat Arun also hurt India during the final session on Day 4 as the visitors leaked 77 runs without a breakthrough.

IND vs ENG LIVE- Ravi Shastri Out of 5th Test:The remaining members of the Team India contingent underwent two Lateral Flow Tests — one on Saturday night and another on Sunday morning. The members upon returning negative COVID reports were allowed to proceed for Day 4 of the ongoing fourth Test at The Oval against England.

Notably, Shastri had attended a function at a hotel in London for the launch of his book ‘Stargazing: The Players in My Life’.

The lateral flow test is a rapid diagnostic test for asymptomatic patients.

Earlier, Rishabh Pant had tested positive ahead of the first test, and bowling coach Bharat Arun had to undergo ten days of isolation. Back then, Shastri had tweeted: “Bloody frustrating these isolation rules. 2 jabs of the vaccine has to be trusted.”

Notably, all the members of the India squad have been fully vaccinated but are staying outside bio-bubble, unlike IPL. The players and support staff were not keen on staying in bio-bubble. But as a precaution, they undergo RT-PCR Test every 5 days.
