Report: Unvaccinated players to be barred from arenas in cities with mandates

Players who have not received COVID-19 shots in NBA cities with vaccine mandates will be barred from entering arenas or facilities for team activities unless they have a medical or religious exemption, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Charania adds, however, that visiting players will be exempt from these vaccination requirements in markets such as New York and San Francisco, which imposed indoor vaccine mandates for places like entertainment venues, gyms and indoor dining last month.

According to The New York Times, the NBA has a vaccination rate of 90 per cent, second to the NFL at 93 per cent and ahead of the NHL at 85 per cent.
