Salisbury and Ram, who is from the United States, defeated the American pair of Johnson and Querrey in straight sets 7-6 (5), 6-4.

The semi-final match was played under the retractable roof at Louis Armstrong Stadium in New York after rain forced it to be closed.

Salisbury and Ram, who are the fourth seeds at the US Open, will now meet the winners of the semi-final between Jamie Murray and Bruno Soares against John Peers and Filip Polasek.

The fourth-seeded duo of Ram and Salisbury won the 2020 Australian Open title and were the runners-up at Melbourne Park this year.

Soares and Murray won two Grand Slam titles together in 2016, including the U.S. Open. Soares was the 2020 men’s doubles champion at Flushing Meadows with Mate Pavic.
