Tommy Fury and Jake Paul got into a heated altercation backstage

Boxers Jake Paul and Tommy Fury fueled the fire to their animosity with a near-brawl backstage following Paul’s win over Tyron Woodley.

Boxing fans have wanted to see the undefeated Jake Paul get truly tested inside of the boxing ring; and they may have a worthy opponent in Tommy Fury, the younger brother of heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.

Paul defeated former UFC champion Tyron Woodley by split-decision, to keep his undefeated boxing record intact in a back-and-forth war in the ring. It was the first time that Paul got to prove that he has the stamina to compete over a full boxing match. Fury earned a win himself, shutting down the relatively inexperienced Anthony Taylor in a unanimous decision win.

After the fights, Fury and Paul crossed paths once again, which went from a relatively calm face-to-face encounter to a near melee at Rocket Mortgage Arena. Fury and Paul have been on each other’s radars for months after Fury called out Paul on social media following the controversial influencer’s knockout over Ben Askren in April.

Fury and Paul’s respective teams nearly got into an all-out brawl before security personnel at the event intervened. It was an inside look into the growing animosity between the two sides and could be the turning point to a potential Fury vs. Paul fight booking shortly.

It appears that Paul and Woodley appear to be heading towards an immediate rematch; after both sides came to a casually made verbal agreement on a second bout following their fight. If negotiations for Paul vs. Woodley 2 don’t materialize, it appears that Paul vs. Fury could be the fight to make.

It’s safe to say that the buildup and mental warfare for Paul vs. Fury would certainly entertain the masses.
