San Francisco 49ers running back Raheem Mostert is headed to the IR, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan.
Mostert has chipped cartilage in his knee and will be out approximately eight weeks.

Mostert exited the game on Sunday when the 49ers took on the Detroit Lions. The 29-year-old had two carries for 20 yards before leaving.
Mostert could be back in the lineup is when the 49ers take on the Arizona Cardinals during Week 9.
During the 2020 season, Mostert posted 104 carries for 521 rushing yards with two touchdowns. He still holds the franchise record for most rushing yards in a postseason with 220, when he propelled the Niners to a 37-20 victory over the Green Bay Packers in the 2019 NFC Championship Game.
