STORRS, Conn. – Hosting the final day of the UConn Challenge, the UConn volleyball team split its matches vs. Central Connecticut and Rutgers on Saturday at Gampel Pavilion.

In the opening contest vs. Blue Devils, the Huskies earned their second straight 3-0 sweep, but saw the outcome reversed in the nightcap against the Scarlet Knights.

UConn 3, Central Connecticut 0 (25-12, 25-14, 25-19)

Senior Caylee Parker was the lone player in the match to record double-digit kills, finishing with 17. Graduate student McKayla Wuensch provided 27 assists, six more than the Blue Devils had as a team. Three Huskies recorded double-digit digs, highlighted by a game-high 16 from junior Karly Berkland.

The Huskies used a well-balance attack in the first set, starting the match with a .625 kill percentage as part of a 12-2 run to open the game.

Central Connecticut tried to recover in the second set, coming within one point midway through the frame until a Wuensch ace sparked a 14-5 reel over the remainder of the set.
