@6:20 PM: Kohli Survives! The partnership is worth 25 off 46 deliveries and Kohli survived as a catch at the slip cordon went begging. Kohli was dropped as Joe Root failed to get hold of the thick outside edge that Woakes induced. It was a gift by the India captain and his counterpart failed to latch on to it.

@6:15 PM: It’s time for the second session to start and it will be Kohli on strike with Woakes starting proceedings.

@5:45 PM: The good thing for India is that skipper Virat Kohli is out there in the middle and he will aim to lead from the front. The mystery around Ajinkya Rahane not coming to bat in his designated position continues but Jadeja has shown good composure.

@5:20 PM – 50 up for India: Ravindra Jadeja is being promoted to No.5 as India protects an out of form Ajinkya Rahane against the moving ball. Virat Kohli is slowly getting into the groove and this partnership will be key for India.

@ 5:10 PM – WICKET- Massive loss for India as Pujara departs to leave India three down. Anderson with a peach of a delivery removed Pujara as his poor form continues. Anderson gets the ball to move away, Pujara hands his bat to feel it and the ball kisses his bat as Bairstow swallows it.

cricket. He reaches the milestone with an on-drive off Anderson. The India skipper is the fastest to reach the landmark.

@4:50 PM – Kohli is yet to get off the mark and Pujara meanwhile has opened his account. Overcast conditions and the England bowlers are having a go at the Indians in relentless fashion. This is an exciting contest.

raped in front, the umpire gave him Out and the review suggested there was no edge and the ball was hitting on top of the middle stump. Virat Kohli joins Pujara.

@4:30 PM: England Review: Loud appeal from Robinson and England take the review only to waste it. It was an in-dipper from Robinson and the ball hit Rahul on the front of leg. It was missing leg stump. Six maidens in a row and the pressure is clearly on the Indian batsmen.

Joe Root made an excellent change in bowling and the move worked as Chris Woakes with a beauty extracted an outside edge to pack off the India opener.

@4:15 PM: WICKET! Chris Woakes strikes as Rohit Sharma departs early to give England an early advantage.

@4:10 PM: Chris Woakes replaces James Anderson. This is the first bowling change and Rahul has been drawn to play a booming drive but the ball misses the edge. The ball isn’t swinging much but the Indian openers need to be watchful as the England pacers are making the batsmen play.

@4:00 PM: This is building as a fine start and both the openers are fairly comfortable in the middle, busy blunting the new ball.

@3:55PM: James Anderson and Ollie Robinson are bowling in tandem but there is not much movement off the pitch and credit to the Indian openers, who are not hurried and have given the team a sedate start. Rahul has been the aggressor with three boundaries and Rohit has got one boundary.

@3:50 PM: India off to steady start

India 1st Innings13/0 (4.1 ov)

@3:40 PM: Four – KL Rahul is all class as he gets the first boundary for India. Slightly overpitched from Anderson and Rahul leans into the drive and creams it through the covers. He then gets a thick outside edge but played with soft hands to find another boundary.

@3:00 PM: England wins Toss, Opts to Bowl First

2:56 PM: Pitch Report by Rob Key: “There is a good covering of grass on this surface and that could be a dilemma for the captain, because it will do a fair bit on the first day but it always gets better here at The Oval. Spin could be a factor later on, as it usually is and run-making does get easier. As a captain, it’s about whether your can see off the opening day and then bat well, or use the conditions on the opening day with the ball. It’s not a bad toss to lose”

@2:50 PM: Toss coming up in 10 minutes. Will the coin land in Virat Kohli’s favour?

@2:40 PM: Pitch at The Oval: Bounce, carry, movement and assistance to spinners as the Test progresses. One can expect the pitch to aid both batsmen and bowlers but with a cloud cover the first session will be crucial. The forecast is clear for the first four days but there is a chance of rain on the final day.

@1:48 PM: The big day has arrived and India will look to bounce back after being demolished by an innings and 76 runs in Leeds. But the biggest question is will veteran spinner R Ashwin play? We will get you all the details.

IND vs ENG LIVE – Will Ashwin Play? Despite of Ravindra Jadeja’s failure with ball in first 3 tests, despite of Ashwin being ranked as No. 2 bowler in the world – uncertainty over the inclusion of Ravichandran Ashwin, currently the world’s best spinner continues.

Jadeja just has two wickets from his 76 overs in the three Tests and it is unlikely that he will be sidelined because the team management trusts his batting more than Ashwin’s.

This means Ashwin’s inclusion in the team will be solely dependent on one fact, whether India will go in with 4 pacers or 2 spinners in Oval.

Former England captain Nasser Hussain has said that “world No. 2 spinner” should have played in Headingley and that he must play in the fourth Test.

“What India have is an off-spin bowler ranked No. 2 and a batsman good enough to have made five Test centuries in Ashwin. He should have played at Headingley against England’s five left-handers and he must play at the Oval,” Hussain wrote in his column for the Daily Mail.

“The most likely solution is that Ashwin will come in for a seamer”

IND vs ENG LIVE Score: – But Bowling coach Bharat Arun felt that the hosts were “wary of Ashwin’s abilities” and team is not expecting pitches which assist spinners. According to Arun, ‘Ashwin’s inclusion will be dependent on how the pitch and condition’s look on the morning of the match”

On the other hand it is decided that Ishant Sharma will be rested & is not in consideration for the 4th test.
