Pep Guardiola could give a start to veteran goalkeeper Scott Carson for Manchester City’s game against Leicester in the Premier League on Saturday.

The current champions have issues in the position for this game as Ederson is banned from playing by FIFA after breaching club rules to join Brazil for international duty without authorisation.

Second-choice goalkeeper Zack Steffen has tested positive for coronavirus, so Carson will be thrust back into the spotlight for just his second Premier League appearance for the club.

Kyle Walker will start at right-back, with Ruben Dias and John Stones in the middle and Joao Cancelo on the left.

Aymeric Laporte had an injury scare on international duty, and although fit, Guardiola should go with Dias and Stones.

Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden are getting close to full fitness and could be involved in some capacity, though it will likely be from the bench.

Bernardo Silva could then feature in a central midfield three alongside Rodri and Ilkay Gundogan.

In attack, Ferran Torres will continue in the centre-forward position after impressing in that role recently, flanked by Jack Grealish and Raheem Sterling.

Gabriel Jesus is unavailable due to the same reason as Ederson, the aforementioned ban from FIFA.
