A quick recap of how club football panned out this weekend!

Manchester United 4-1 Newcastle United

Cristiano Ronaldo, the Prince of Old Trafford was in full swing in his return to the city. After critics calling Ronny unfit for the Prem, Ronaldo shattered the criticism just in the first half. The other stars in this game were Mason Greenwood and Bruno Fernandes. Cristiano opened his account in the injury time of the first half after the Newcastle keeper made a mess of a simple grab coming off the foot of Mason. Ronaldo took the chance and scored a tap-in. Newcastle did pull one goal back when Javi Manquillo scored in the 56th minute.

The guys from Portugal gave the Englishmen a taste of Portuguese football!

In the second half, Bruno Fernandes was on fire and so was Matic. Although Ronaldo scored the second goal, the two midfielders dominated the pitch. Ronaldo scored his second goal by pushing the ball between the keeper’s legs. But the best goal of them all was scored by Bruno Fernandes, who scored a screamer from the D-top. Jesse Lingard sealed the game for the red Devils by scoring, coming off the bench. 4-1, Man U.

Crystal Palace 3- 0 Tottenham Hotspurs

In the biggest shocker of Matchday 4, Crystal Palace beat Tottenham Hotspurs by 3-0.  The Spurs also conceded a red card in the game. The first half of the game was evenly played. The boys passed around the ball and intended to take the game deep. The Spurs did find a few close chances with Kane but failed to convert.  But the game was entirely dominated by Palace. The CP players ruled the possession by 63% to 37%. In the entire game, Tottenham was successful in creating only 2 on-target shots. But CP in return fired 18 shots.

Hotspurs didn’t look up to the mark in their game against Crystal Palace.

In the second half, Crystal Palace took the entire game away with Wilfred Zaha converting a spot-kick. In the 84th minute, Odsonne Edouard sealed the game with a clean finish. The cherry on the cake was another goal by him in the dying minutes of injury time. 3-0, Crystal Palace win!!

Wolves 2-0 Watford

Wolves went up against Watford in a closely fought game. They sealed the game with Francisco Sierraltta scoring their own goal in the 74th minute. The team further doubled their lead with a goal from Hwang Hee-Chan.

Chelsea 3-0 Aston Villa

Romelu announced his return to the Prem in fierce fashion.

Romelu Lukaku announced his comeback to the Blues in a great fashion against Aston Villa. The Blues secured a 3-0 victory over Villa. The scoreline doesn’t justify the effort dropped in by Aston Villa as on any other day they too would have got 3 goals which came off the post. The game was an evenly fought contest. But it was Romelu Lukaku who stole the limelight in London. The possession was as even as 57-43, Chelsea. Lukaku scored a brace by scoring once in the 15th minute and once again in stoppage time. Mateo Kovacic too got himself on the scoresheet by netting one 48th minute.
