On Saturday, he slammed his first century in England to help India take an edge against hosts. He slammed a century off 205 balls with the help of 12 fours and a six that he used to bring his ton.

In the match, Rohit Sharma shared a crucial partnership of 83 runs for the opening wicket with Rahul. He looked rock solid and he saw out the first hour along with KL Rahul (46) on Day 3 with both of them looking set for a big one. The right-handed batsman has so far slammed 2 fifties and a century in the ongoing Test series against England.

Rohit Sharma has shut all his critics with consistent performance in England. He has showcased his perseverance to leave the balls outside off stumps and played as per situations. As a result, he is currently the second-highest run-scorer in the ongoing series with 300+ runs with a staggering average of 48+. The 33-year-old will now look to slam his first century away from India.

His impressive form means there is no chance for Mayank Agarwal, Prithvi Shaw to get a chance in the top order. Meanwhile, KL Rahul has pounced on the opportunity after Shubman Gill’s departure following a shin injury.
